Downloads probably end up in your Downloads folder, but you can change that! Here’s how for all popular browsers:
Chrome on Windows
- Click the three-line menu button at the upper right corner of the screen.
- Click on Settings. A new tab will open.
- Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page. Click on the small link Show advanced settings… and more options will load below.
- Search the page (Ctrl+F) for Downloads.
- Choose a download location that you will remember and be able to find easily. OR check the box Ask where to save each file before downloading; this way you can choose to download the file somewhere you will easily find it every time.
Chrome on Mac
- Type Command+, OR click on the Chrome menu at the upper left corner of your screen, to the right of the Click on Preferences. A new tab will open.

- Type Ctrl+J OR click on the Tools Click on View downloads, about a third of the way down the menu.
- Click the Options link in the lower left corner.
- Choose a Default download location that you will remember and be able to find easily.
Firefox on Windows

- Choose a place to Save files to that you will remember and be able to find easily. OR check the box Always ask me where to save files; this way you can choose to download the file somewhere you will easily find it every time.
Firefox on Mac
- Type Command+, or click on the three-line menu button at the upper right corner of the screen. Click on the Preferences.

Safari
- Type Command+, OR click on the Chrome menu at the upper left corner of your screen, to the right of the Click on Preferences.
- Near the bottom of the window there’s a dropdown menu for File download location.
- Click that menu to choose a place to save all your downloaded files you will remember and be able to find easily. OR check the box Ask for each download; this way you can choose to download the file somewhere you will easily find it every time.
