Congratulations to all the RWA Golden Heart and RITA winners at this year’s RWA annual conference in Anaheim, most especially to Joanna Bourne, author of The Black Hawk, which got the best historical nod in a very impressive field.
I came away from this year’s conference with a lot to think about, and many good ideas. One good idea is to sign up for author Virna DePaul’s newsletter, if you have any curiosity about how romance is plotted, written, marketed, and otherwise promoted in a challenging marketplace. Virna writes one heck of a fine book, and gave a wonderful workshop on how she goes about it.
