Yes!

There are two great reasons for you:

1. Early access to new releases! Books release several days earlier on Grace’s store than they do
2. Discounts through bundles. Grace would love to make all the books cheaper on her store, but she can’t, thanks to Amazon’s rules. But if you buy book bundles from Grace’s store you’ll spend 25% less than buying the books separately.

Grace also gets to keep a little more money per book when you buy through her store, and you’re supporting two small businesses (Grace herself, and Gumroad, the ecommerce platform Grace uses to sell her books) instead of the mammoth Amazon.  

No, it’s just a store. It’s the ecommerce – or shopping cart – platform Grace uses to accept digital payments and sell her books. You download the books from Grace store, then add them to your favorite eReader or reading app to enjoy them.

You can download a Gumroad app, but that’s only for tracking your purchases, not for reading.

Yes! Your credit card information is secure in Gumroad’s hands and you can read all about it straight from them.

Buying your new book

1. If a book is available through Grace’s bookstore, you’ll find a link at the top and bottom of the book page. At the top of the page, click Buy from Grace. At the bottom, click Grace’s Own eBook Store.
2. A Gumroad overlay will pop up on your screen. Click the teal I want this! button.
3. You can proceed with your purchase or add more to your cart.

The books you’ve already added can be found by clicking the white circle with the teal number in the upper right corner of your window.

4. When you’re ready, click the teal Pay button.
5. Gumroad doesn’t need much information from you to complete your purchase! Just your email address, and the number, expiration date, and CV code of your credit card. Enter that information and click the teal Pay button.
6. That’s it! You have purchased a book directly from Grace Burrowes. You’re ready to download your products and get them on your favorite ebook reading device.

1. Once your payment processes, a Thank You page will appear, including a gray button that says View product. Click that button.
2. You have purchased two or three versions of each book – (1) a MOBI file that works on Kindles, (2) an EPUB file that works on iBooks, Nook, Kobo, Google Play, and most other eReaders, and, for some books, (3) a PDF file that works well on computers and tablets. If you’re not sure which type of file you want, click the teal Download all button.
3. If you know what version of the book you want, there are also gray Download buttons next to each file which will allow you to download only that one.
4. For the sake of Future You, be careful not to delete the receipt you get in your email (subject line will be You bought TITLE! For example: “You bought The Virtues of Christmas!” or “You bought Trenton: Lord of Loss!” If you buy more than one book at once, you will get a confirmation email for each book). You will be able to access these files forever as long as you have that email.

   If you have several email addresses and you’re concerned you’ll forget which address received this receipt, forward the receipt to the others. Everything you need will be accessible through a forward, too!

   Keep better track of your bookmarks than your emails? The URL you’re on now is unique to your purchase. You can bookmark it and come back to it anytime to access your book downloads.

Downloads probably end up in your Downloads folder, but you can change that! Here’s how for all popular browsers:

Chrome on Windows

1. Click the three-line menu button at the upper right corner of the screen.
2. Click on Settings. A new tab will open.
3. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page. Click on the small link Show advanced settings… and more options will load below.
4. Search the page (Ctrl+F) for Downloads.
5. Choose a download location that you will remember and be able to find easily. OR check the box Ask where to save each file before downloading; this way you can choose to download the file somewhere you will easily find it every time.

Chrome on Mac

1. Type Command+, OR click on the Chrome menu at the upper left corner of your screen, to the right of the  Click on Preferences. A new tab will open.

3. Choose a Default download location that you will remember and be able to find easily.

Firefox on Windows

2. Near the bottom of the window there’s a dropdown menu for File download location.
3. Click that menu to choose a place to save all your downloaded files you will remember and be able to find easily. OR check the box Ask for each download; this way you can choose to download the file somewhere you will easily find it every time.

You can create an Gumroad account if you like, but you do not have to. You will lose very little functionality if you choose not to make an account at this time. As long as you save the receipt in your email you will always have access to the books you buy from Grace’s bookstore!

You’ll probably notice buttons leading you to an App all over the place. This is not a reading app! It is simply to keep track of the purchases you make through Gumroad. If that sounds useful to you, go ahead. Otherwise, don’t bother.

It is possible to read your new book through Gumroad, but we don’t recommend it. Nearly any other reader will give you a better reading experience, and you can get your new book on to your favorite reader with just a little effort.
